Medical work runs in Dr. Kathy’s family—both of her parents were human physicians, as is her brother. Dr. Kathy, however, had an additional passion: animals. For her, veterinary medicine was the perfect combination of her medical interests and her adoration for the earth’s creatures! A native of Edmonton, Dr. Kathy received her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta before gaining acceptance into the University of Saskatchewan’s veterinary program.
She first started here at Kamloops veterinary clinic in 2007 on a locum basis before being hired on full-time. Dr. Kathy has special interests in internal medicine cases, preventative healthcare strategies, and pet-owner education. Most of all, she likes connecting with people who love animals just as much as she does!
At home, Dr. Kathy and her husband share their lives with their two wonderful daughters, a pair of cats named Boots and Reese, two dogs named Lucy and Pepper, and five horses. When she isn’t caring for pets here at the hospital or spending time on horseback with her daughters, Dr. Kathy enjoys mountain biking, skiing in the winter, and catching up with family and friends.
